I must be getting old. Forget a laptop, television, phone, clothes, money.. all the 'normal' things a teenager asks of for christmas. This year I asked for a bookcase. Yes, you read that right and no, I'm not prone to reading a novel before bed, but there was something about this that just screamed PERFECT!
Okay so it's not the latest gadget I can show off to my friends, but it works incredibly well in my bedroom and to be honest I'm past feeling the need to show off. Also, between me getting a job and my friends preparing to go away to university I've been day dreaming about also getting my little own place. I doubt I'd manage very long (I'm not very easy to live with, and I'd cry myself to sleep if I lived on my own) but I can't wait for the day I'm ready to go and have a space thats all mine. So here's the first piece of furniture I'll add to my flat when I finally brave it alone. It's perfect for both storing, and displaying (Yes, those are my new Uggs.. Third from the left, second row up.. and aren't they stunning!). Its so simple and sturdy, I only wish my life was the same. I went with my mum to ikea to get it, another chirstmas first, and we found those lovely felt draws that slot perfectly in place (clearly another depressing subconscious metaphor). Next on my 'things I'll eventually move into my first flat' list is a sofa. I fancy a really old one from a flee market or something.
